Earlier this week, BITSA held a Tech Careers event in collaboration with Commonwealth Bank alongside a Q&A and a short networking session. The event provided over 95 students with the opportunity to network with industry representatives and gain an in-depth knowledge of the industry, advice and insights into the company culture.
The event kicked off with an insightful presentation from Shalia Eime which detailed different tech roles, the programs which Commbank offered and their respective registration dates. Following this was an informative Q&A session that allowed students to interact with the panellists to find out about the company culture and the application process. The students were then shifted into breakout rooms where they had the opportunity to interact more directly with company representatives about their experiences.
BITSA would like to thank all the representatives Shanis Lovin, Michelle Ryan, @Nick Roper, Rachel Chan, Emily Yuan, Eleonora Kazantzis, Louise Li, Gabriella Pagano, Emily Dicker, Iindi Reti, Sonam P., and Shalia Eime for their invaluable insights into CBA and tech roles as well as Theresa D. for helping organise the event. BITSA also would like to thank all the attendees engaging in our event. We look forward to future collaborations with CBA!
